Regione Lombardia - Consultation on Regional Sustainable Development Strategy

Regione Lombardia - Consultation on Regional Sustainable Development Strategy

Ryan Titley 2 minutes

Regione Lombardia is currently building a new regional strategy for the Sustainable Development. The latter will be instrumental in order to link the future Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS) to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

This follows Italy joining, in 2015,  the new United Nations Development Agenda “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” and, two years later, approving the National Sustainable Development Strategy as the main instrument for coordinating implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Italy. This National Sustainable Development Strategy– adopting the same ‘broad-brush’, universal and inclusive approach of the 2030 Agenda – intends to boost nationally and regionally the collaboration and interaction abilities to ensure the necessary integration of sustainability objectives into territorial and sector policies.

With the proposed consultation, Regione Lombardia wishes to analyse themes linked to the circular economy and the bioeconomy within the framework of the “sustainable development” (the 3 sections of the survey).  All these topics are relevant at European level, and Lombardy Region intends to explore the theme of “sustainable development” out of their own boundaries by opening the survey to its partner Regions/agencies/networks. The contributions collected will serve as a foundation to the strategy and help the Region carry out targeted, shared and constructed actions.

Many stakeholders share with Regione Lombardia this high interest for building a regional circular bioeconomy and linking the S3 to the Sustainable Development Goals.

You can participate to the consultation through this link or share it with your networks. Please note that it takes about 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire, which will remain open until 11th November 2019.

On behalf of Regione Lombardia, thank you in advance for your collaboration.
